Fly Fishing vs. Business... Astonishingly Similar!

Took me out for my very 1st time ...

 

Small mountain lake, and suddenly he spots a Rainbow Trout feeding on the surface, in the lily pads ==> about 55 ft. away!

 

"OK,  watch this ..." he advises. I prayed!

 

He winds up his cast ... his fly line & a floating fly went whooshing back & forth through the air!

 

He let's go, line went peeling out. Far! Plop, the fly lands about 2 ft short. Twitch, twitch, he tries to coax the fish in.

 

But nope. So he hand-lines the fly back in.

 

"Let's try that again," he quips ...

 

Again, line & fly justa whippin' through the air ... and this time he gracefully lands the fly right between 2 lily pads, perfect position!

 

Twitch, twitch ... twitch ... (Me: "Jesus!")

 

BAM! Fish on, Baby!!!! Zzzz'ing!! Yee haa!

 

Does it get any better than this?

 

A gorgeous 16" mountain Rainbow jumping, fighting and justa tail-walkin' across the lake!

 

A truly beautiful sight!

 

Me (talking to me): "WoW! I really think I can DO this sport!"

 

And that was it, I was (permanently!) hooked! And, I've never looked back since!

 

Fishing is a sport that's "chock full" of HOPE, isn't it? It's not easy by any means, but you've always got hope for a "win."

 

And, it's a lot like Business in that way, too.

 

Sometimes you have to cast a few different times until you hit that sweet spot ... over there, right between those 2 lily pads ... about 55 more Marketing Campaigns straight ahead!

 

Am I right?

 

And like your Marketing & Sales, you twitch, twitch, you set the hook, you play & land your prized ... Customer!

 

There's so much you can learn about fly fishing, Business, the Bible, everything, really.

 

Never be shy to get yourself a mentor who's fished a few more (and a few different types of) lakes than you have.

 

And, pray!

 

I used to always say ...

 

"There's never been a fish come aboard my boat that was not prayed in!"

And the same applies to Business, as you know!

 

Hope. Mentors. Knowledge. Experience, discernment, wisdom, action and especially ... the fiercely awesome power of prayer.

 

They're all good.
